St Elizabeth Hospital has been providing healthcare in Latifabad since 1958 when Latifabad was begun as the new urban extension of old Hyderabad to give housing to many Muslims who had moved from India after partition in 1947.

Mobile Medical Outreach Programme

has provided regular, effective, professional, compassionate and free health care to many impoverished Christian, Muslim, Hindu and tribal people who are bonded agricultural workers in Sindh province in south-east Pakistan.

Home-Based Palliative Care

The number of relapsed patients and those  who have not got medical attention in time translates into a huge cancer population in Hyderabad who need palliative care. By providing palliative care to cancer patients, HBPC is filling a major gap in government health care in Hyderabad and surrounding areas.

Midwifery Training School

St. Elizabeth Midwifery Training School is attached to St Elizabeth Hospital in Hyderabad. It is overseen by the SEMTS Management Council and is professionally accredited to and accountable to the Pakistan Nursing Council. Mrs. Zarish Momal, M.Sc.Nursing, is principal and the Sisters of Charity of Jesus and Mary see to the residential accommodation for the student midwives.

Catholic Centre of Academic Excellence

The Catholic Centre of Academic Excellence provides a non-residential sustained environment so that academically talented Catholic boys and young men can overcome the economic, cultural and social barriers which arise from intense religious discrimination and family poverty. Through CCAE they attain high academic grades and obtain admission to free university and tertiary education on merit basis.

Catholic Youth Development Centre

The Catholic Youth Development Centre is a non-residential education program which offers the possibility of a better life to illiterate Catholic young men in Hyderabad. They have dropped out of school or have never been to school. CYDC enables them to move from illiteracy and street-sweeping to completing high school and employment through an accelerated programme of teaching and learning. Hope replaces despair. Everything at CYDC is free.

St Elizabeth Hospital Society functions under the Catholic diocese of Hyderabad and is registered under the Societies Act of 1860 with Certificate of Registration PAR/HYD No. 8597 of 2020-2021.  It has its executive administration while the organizations linked to it have their own administrative and financial management.

  • St Elizabeth Hospital has grown with Latifabad in Hyderabad. Latifabad was set up as a new urban development to provide housing for the many people who arrived in Sindh after 1947. St Elizabeth was founded in 1958 by the Catholic Church in collaboration with the government of Pakistan to provide urgently needed healthcare to these people.The administrator and management respond with high professional competency and confidence in overseeing all diagnostic and surgical care including the hospital’s specialization in Mother & Child health care, its Mobile Medical Outreach Programme and the Home-Based Palliative Care
  • Mobile Medical Outreach Programme provides free primary medical care and medication of the highest quality every year to more than 50,000 impoverished people in interior Sindh rural
  • Home-Based Palliative Care provides free nursing care in the home to an average of 60 terminally-ill cancer patients every The construction of a new Palliative Care Day Centre will begin in late 2024. This will be the first in Pakistan.
  • Catholic Centre of Academic Excellence founded in 2007 and the Catholic Youth Development Centre founded in 2008 provide free education and formation for under-privileged and disadvantaged Catholic boys and young men in Hyderabad. They achieve outstanding results in the Hyderabad Board of Education annual examinations.
  • St. Elizabeth School of Midwifery has been preparing young women since 1958 to become community midwives and respond to the crisis in maternal and neonatal health in Pakistan.
